The sportfishing in this part of Costa Rica can best be described as two distict fisheries, an inshore and offshore. The inshore fishery is very diverse. While most anglers target the unique and powerful Roosterfish, a multitude of different species can be caught on any given day including Jack Crevalle, Big-eye Trevally, Bluefin Trevally, Pompano, Snook, Cubera Snapper, Grouper, Pacific Sierra Mackeral, and Skipjack Tuna.

The offshore fishery consists of excellent angling for large Pacific Sailfish, Blue Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna, Dorado, and Wahoo. The numbers of Pacific Sailfish in these waters makes for ideal "bait and switch" tactics for fly fishers and light tackle enthusiasts.

In addition to the fantastic sportfishing this area provides there are many other recreational opportunities available including jungle tours in Corcovado National Park, surfing, snorkeling, dolphin watching, etc. So come fish Costa Rica for an adventure you'll never forget.
